Mahindra Logistics Expands Electric Taxi Fleet at Noida International Airport Amid Delhi-NCR EV Competition
Since launching the premium, tech‑enabled B2C service Alyte in August 2025, Mahindra Logistics has positioned the platform to offer chauffeur‑driven rides, fixed pricing and a fully electric fleet. The firm says it will scale the service cautiously, prioritising customer experience and operational reliability before extending to other cities over the next two to three years.
NIA’s commercial operations began on 15 June 2026, and the airport’s partnership with Mahindra Logistics aims to provide a seamless, environment‑friendly transfer option for business and leisure travellers. The 70‑vehicle fleet currently operates across Delhi and Noida, and the planned five‑fold increase would add about 280 EVs over the next year.
Delhi‑NCR has become a focal point for premium electric‑mobility operators. The opening of NIA and the exit of BluSmart from the market have created a vacuum that several entrants are trying to fill. Green SM, the mobility arm of Vietnam’s Vingroup and EV maker VinFast, has rolled out a fleet of 1,000 company‑owned electric vehicles in the region, including the VinFast VF 5 and the Limo Green MPV. Green SM’s strategy mirrors that of Alyte, relying on an asset‑heavy model with employee drivers and fixed pricing to deliver a predictable customer experience.
Trevel, a Gurugram‑based startup, has also entered the space. The company raised $1 million in 2026 from investors such as India Accelerator, Finvolve and the Haldiram Family Office. Trevel has grown from four vehicles to more than 50 premium EVs and plans to expand to 500 vehicles by March 2027. Its fleet includes MG Windsor EV, MG ZS EV, BYD e6 and Kia Carens Clavis EV.
The rise of multiple fleet operators underscores the growing confidence that airport transfers are a lucrative use case for electric vehicles. Such routes offer predictable paths, easier charging management, high vehicle utilisation and a customer base willing to pay a premium for reliability and service quality.
Beyond passenger transfers, corporate mobility is another segment attracting EV fleets. Operators such as Refex Green Mobility have built sizeable electric fleets that serve multinational corporations, technology parks and airlines through dedicated employee‑transportation contracts.
For Mahindra Logistics, Alyte represents more than an airport taxi service. The platform is part of the company’s broader strategy to build a consumer‑facing mobility brand while creating a commercial deployment channel for Mahindra’s electric vehicles. Alyte currently operates through two service categories: Alyte Privé, targeting the premium electric‑mobility segment, and Alyte Select, which continues the airport‑taxi operations previously associated with Meru across several Indian airports.
The rapid growth of Delhi‑NCR’s premium EV market presents both opportunities and challenges. Operators must not only add vehicles but also convince travellers that reliability, service quality and electrification can coexist in a market historically dominated by traditional ride‑hailing platforms.
As Noida International Airport ramps up passenger traffic, Mahindra Logistics’ expansion will be closely watched. The company’s next steps include deploying additional charging infrastructure, refining its pricing model and monitoring customer feedback to maintain service standards.
The broader business community will also be interested in how the expansion aligns with India’s sustainability goals and the government’s push for electric mobility. While the company has not disclosed specific financial targets for the FY27 expansion, the move signals a significant commitment to the region’s evolving premium EV landscape.
In summary, Mahindra Logistics is scaling its electric taxi fleet at NIA, positioning itself amid a competitive Delhi‑NCR market that includes Green SM and Trevel. The company’s focus on customer experience, operational reliability and a growing fleet of Mahindra XUV 400 EVs reflects its ambition to become a key player in India’s premium electric‑mobility sector.
