Nova Entertainment Expands Digital Sign-In and App Features to Boost Audience Targeting
The company said listeners can now register and sign in on every major connected‑TV platform – Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV and Android TV – via its full suite of Player apps. The expansion widens Nova’s reach on smart‑TV devices and unlocks fresh advertising opportunities for partners.
Authenticated listening gives Nova a clearer view of how audiences engage across devices, content and listening environments. The company says these insights strengthen its ability to deliver more relevant advertising, enable additional device targeting, improve campaign effectiveness and increase commercial value for advertisers.
Nova also upgraded its Player apps to create a more seamless, personalised journey. A new Radio Tab lets users navigate, favourite and build playlists of stations from Nova and partner networks. Loyalty programmes – Club Nova and Smooth Collective – now feature a dedicated Win Tab that drives engagement and retention by showcasing competitions from local stations and other Nova brands.
The initiative comes amid continued growth in digital audio consumption. Infinite Dial Australia 2026 reports that more than one‑third of Australians aged 25‑54 stream radio each month, and over half of all Australians can listen to audio in a connected car. Nova’s availability across the latest Android Auto and Apple CarPlay experiences supports this trend.
Michelle Golding, Nova’s Digital Strategy, Capabilities & Data Director, said the expansion delivers significant benefits for both advertisers and audiences. “Authenticated listening gives us a deeper understanding of how audiences engage with NOVA across devices, content and environments, helping us build more meaningful audience insights and deliver greater value for commercial partners,” she said. Golding added that the new sign‑in capabilities allow listeners to enjoy a more connected, personalised and rewarding experience from content discovery to loyalty and rewards.
Nova Entertainment is Australia’s leading independent audio entertainment business. It owns and operates the Nova Network, Smooth FM Network, FIVEAA in Adelaide, Star 104.5 on the NSW Central Coast and a suite of DAB+ stations, including Smooth FM, Smooth Relax, Nova Nation, Nova Jamz and Coles Radio. The company’s broadcast offering is complemented by on‑demand assets across digital, social, mobile and the Nova Podcast Network.
The company’s parent, Illyria Pty Ltd, acquired the remaining 50 % stake it did not own from Daily Mail & General Trust in September 2012.
Nova’s latest rollout positions it to capture a larger share of the growing digital audio market and to provide advertisers with more precise targeting and measurement across a broad array of connected listening environments.
As the company continues to expand its digital footprint, investors and industry observers will watch how the new features affect listener engagement metrics, advertising revenue and the broader competitive landscape of Australian radio and audio advertising.
The company will report its next earnings quarter in September 2026, when it is expected to provide further detail on the financial impact of these platform enhancements.
