Swiss AI‑powered bioprocess platform DataHow closed a bridge‑financing round that extends its Series A, positioning the company to speed the rollout of its flagship product, DataHowLab. The round, led by existing investor Momenta, a venture firm that focuses on industrial impact, also saw continued participation from Rockwell Automation, HINA Bioventures and Zürcher Kantonalbank.

The infusion of capital will be directed toward three key priorities for DataHowLab: real‑time connectivity, model‑driven process control, and the expansion of downstream processing capabilities. In short, the company is moving from a laboratory‑centric digital twin to a fully integrated, production‑ready platform that can guide biopharmaceutical manufacturers through the entire upstream and downstream production chain.

DataHow’s hybrid‑modelling technology already powers the biopharmaceutical industry’s largest manufacturers. By combining mechanistic process knowledge with data‑driven AI, the platform delivers richer insight and decision support to process engineers, while cutting experimental effort, time and cost. The new funding reflects the confidence that DataHow’s partners have in the company’s progress and the opportunities ahead.

"Our customers keep asking us to bring our technologies and methods further, earlier – into real‑time environments and downstream processing," said Dr. Alessandro Butté, CEO and co‑founder. "This new funding lets us respond directly to that demand and expand the platform to meet our customers where they need us next."

Momenta’s executive director, Ken Forster, added: "Momenta's continued investment reflects the same conviction that led us to back DataHow at Series A. The company's progress toward real‑time, model‑driven process control is exactly the kind of shift from automation to autonomy that we believe will define the next era of industrial manufacturing."

Matt Weaver, vice president of Global Industry Sales – Life Sciences at Rockwell Automation, commented: "Connected, real‑time data is the cornerstone of intelligent and autonomous biomanufacturing. DataHow is enabling customers to shift from retrospective analysis to predictive, model‑driven process control, unlocking greater agility, consistency and operational performance. As AI‑powered operations become a foundational element of modern manufacturing, DataHow is uniquely positioned to accelerate the industry's transition toward autonomous production environments."

DataHow’s platform, described as a real‑time digital twin, connects directly to laboratory and production systems. Partnerships with OEMs such as Rockwell Automation are driving the development of real‑time capabilities that enable human‑in‑the‑loop process guidance, disturbance rejection, optimization and control.

The bridge financing will also fund the extension of DataHowLab’s upstream processing (USP) capabilities into downstream processing (DSP). The move will give customers a single, consistent digital bioprocessing offering that spans the entire production chain.

Momenta, recognized by PitchBook as a Top VC Fund Manager from 2023 through 2026, focuses on accelerating industrial innovators. HINA Bioventures, a hyper‑specialist life‑sciences investment firm, targets the Bioprocess 4.0 market, which is part of the broader digital bioprocessing landscape.

DataHow’s CEO noted that the company has already seen adoption across many large manufacturers, and the new capital will allow it to deepen real‑time integration and broaden downstream coverage.

The bridge round underscores the growing demand for AI‑enabled bioprocess solutions in an industry that is moving toward automation, digital twins and data‑driven decision making. With the new funding, DataHow is positioned to deliver a more connected, model‑driven platform that can accelerate development, reduce costs and improve consistency for biopharmaceutical manufacturers.

At present, DataHow has secured the bridge financing and will use the funds to advance the three identified priorities. The company has not announced a timetable for product releases or further funding rounds, and no earnings or regulatory filings are pending.

The investment confirms that DataHow’s hybrid modelling approach and real‑time platform are gaining traction among biopharma manufacturers, and that its partners remain committed to supporting the company’s growth.
